Algar safaris would like to keep our hunters updated on new decisions made on South AmericaN Trophy Measuring. In the June issue of the Safari Times, front cover and page 15, there was an article written by Herb Atkinson regarding trophy scoring issues in South America.
The note highlighted that it became very obvious that certain South American SCI official and master Measurers had been intentionally scoring trophies incorrectly to make them appear on the record book entry form, to be larger than they really were, apparently to charge a bigger trophy fee for the animal. Also, to have entries rank higher in the Record book.
Despite the record book and World Hunting Awards Committee (RB/WHA) had asked South American outfitters to get the trophies re measured, because of suspicion that they had been scored incorrectly, Algar Safaris is proud to announce that NO trophy taken with us has had any kind of problem or has been removed from the SCI record book. It reflects that trophies at Algar safaris had been correctly measured and enhances Algar safaris reputation and integrity.
In addition, there were reprimands and revocation of certificates to Official Measurers and master measures in Argentina, and we are also proud to say that this action has not affected the Algar staff at all. Algar Safaris deeply regrets the behavior of the punished outfitters involved. See as follows: http://digital.turn-page.com/i/68309
